Duisburgs junges Herz

The CityPalais location

The exciting architecture and star emblem of the CityPalais – open since 2007 – symbolises the city of Duisburg’s youthful spirit. It enjoys a top-class location on König-Heinrich-Platz with its ‘floating lawns’, opposite the classical columns of the theatre and the venerable municipal court building, alongside Duisburg’s popular high street Königstrasse, and in direct proximity to other sights of the city. This is where Duisburg’s pulse beats fastest!

Duisburg is not just the place where the urban networks of Lower Rhein and Rhein-Ruhr join up. The town lies literally at the heart of Europe. 8.3m people live within an hour’s travel. The world-famous Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the fascinating WestSpiel Casino and the numerous conferences are an attraction not only throughout Germany, but also internationally.

The city of Duisburg has more than 800 train connections each day, 100 of which are for InterCityExpress (ICE) and EuroCity (EC) high-speed trains. Two east-west and three north-south motorways make it an ideal destination to reach by car. Dusseldorf International Airport is 20 minutes by car and also has a direct train connection to the city centre.
